A little about me:
I am Amy Johnson and this is my 25th year of teaching!!! I have taught 6th grade Reading at OMS for the past 15 years. Before that, I taught 2nd and 3rd grades in Birmingham City Schools for 10 years. I am the Lead Teacher for 6th grade, and the Reading Department Head at OMS. I am also in charge of the School Wide Spelling Bee and the Camp McDowell trip.I have a beautiful daughter, Summer Grace, who is a Sophomore at JSU. She is a member of the most amazing band ever, the Marching Southerners and enjoys playing Flute/Piccolo. I LOVE being her MOM and I am so proud of her!!!!
My Favorite Things:Starbucks! (I can't live without my Starbucks, and my homeroom can attest that until I've had my cofffee...it's not pretty!), chocolate, mountain cabins, beaches, cruises, staying home with logs on the roaring fire, collecting coffee mugs, and hoodie sweatshirts. I love the fall season!! A perfect day would be staying home or at a mountain cabin or beach with a cup of Starbucks, the snap, crackle, pop of a roaring fire, homemade chili or soup on the stove and watching Alabama Football!!! Roll Tide!!!!!!!! I also enjoy singing, reading, and attending anything my daughter is participating in to watch her and cheer her on!
I am excited about this school year, and will try to keep this site updated with helpful information. Parents, if you have not emailed me yet, please do so at amy.johnson@sccboe.org for 10 bonus points for your child. That way, I will be able to save your address and email all the parents when important things are taking place.
Thank you for taking advantage of this site! Please return often!
